Overview

Sa'ir is a Palestinian town located approximately 8 km northeast of Hebron city, covering a total area of 117,000 dunums. An ancient agricultural community, Sa'ir is identified with the biblical Zior and has been continuously inhabited for thousands of years. The town lies on the eastern slopes of the Judean Hills and is surrounded by extensive agricultural lands. Since 1967, Sa'ir has faced significant land confiscation for the Metzad (Asfar) settlement and the Separation Wall, which threatens to cut through the town's northern and western lands. The town has also been affected by stone quarrying operations that damage agricultural land and create dust pollution.

Historical Significance

The town includes the ancient villages of Ein Sa'ir, Khirbet Kuziba, Khirbet Beit Einun, and Khirbet Abu Alduwayy. Sa'ir is known for producing many Palestinian resistance fighters.
