Overview
Idhna is a Palestinian town located approximately 20 km west of Hebron city, near the Green Line (1949 Armistice Line). An ancient settlement with archaeological remains from the Roman and Byzantine periods, Idhna has historically been an agricultural community known for its olive groves and grain cultivation. Since 1967, Idhna has been severely affected by the Separation Wall, which cuts through the town's western lands, isolating thousands of dunums of agricultural land and separating families. The town has also faced land confiscation for the Eshkolot settlement and regular settler attacks on farmers. In 2007, Israeli forces demolished Khirbet Qassa near Idhna, forcing over 200 residents to flee.
Historical Significance
Ancient Canaanite town identified with biblical Dannah. Located at the westernmost edge of Palestine, directly adjacent to the Separation Wall.
