Overview

Azzun (Arabic: عزون) is a Palestinian town in the Qalqilya Governorate of the northwestern West Bank, located approximately 8 km southeast of Qalqilya city and 24 km southwest of Nablus. The town sits at a strategic crossroads in the central northern West Bank and is surrounded by olive groves. Since 1967, Azzun has been severely affected by settlement expansion, particularly from the nearby settlements of Ma'ale Shomron (1980), Karnei Shomron (1978), and the outpost of Kidumim. The town has also been impacted by the Israeli separation wall, which runs through its western lands, confiscating agricultural land and restricting movement. Azzun has been a center of resistance during both Intifadas and has endured repeated Israeli military incursions, curfews, and settler violence.

Historical Significance
