Overview
Arraba is a Palestinian town in the Lower Galilee, located in the fertile Sakhnin Valley (Sahl al-Battuf). Before 1948, it was a village of about 2,500 residents cultivating the exceptionally fertile alluvial soil of the valley, one of the most productive agricultural areas in Palestine. The valley's unique microclimate and rich soil made it ideal for grains, vegetables, and sesame. During the 1948 Nakba, Arraba came under Israeli control but avoided expulsion, though it was subjected to military rule until 1966 and lost significant land to confiscation. The town has grown to become one of the larger Palestinian towns in the Galilee.
